2022 Fall Service Reminder

Announcements
Doesn't it feel like we just put boats in the water? This season has flown by, and we hope that you have enjoyed the boating season as much as we have. Unfortunately, we know that the fun can’t last forever, and winter will be here before we know it.
Here are some important things to keep in mind as we begin to store boats and get them ready for winter:
- All non-houseboats must be off the docks by no later than October 31 at Charles Mill Marina and October 15 at Pleasant Hill Marina. If you plan on having us take out and store your boat, please contact us by October 15 at Charles Mill and October 1 at Pleasant Hill to ensure we have availability on our pullout schedule.
- If we take your boat out, please make sure you provide us with a key. Also make sure you have a working battery and gas in the tank. It is a $25 charge for us to bring your boat around to the ramp from your dock at the marina. You can also bring it around at your scheduled pullout time or leave it at our courtesy dock at no extra charge.
- We recommend running the gasoline down in your boat to a low level. Our techs will add fuel stabilizer to your gas if you have us winterize your motor.
- Winterization is critical to preserving your motor. This is routine engine maintenance and neglecting to do this can result in your engine being damaged or destroyed by Ohio’s freeze/thaw cycle, which typically starts in early November.
- We recommend a deluxe winterization once every two seasons, which replaces and tests important engine parts.
- If your engine is a 4-stroke, we highly recommend an annual oil change. If you don’t know if your engine is a 2-stroke or a 4-stroke, just ask us.
- Shrink wrapping your boat is the best way to protect it against winter’s harsh elements and a cost-effective alternative to inside storage. We don’t recommend using your mooring cover in the winter as heavy snow and ice build-up will destroy it.
- Having your tubes cleaned annually with an acid and brightener can help them keep looking great. It is very difficult to remove algae and growth that has been on the tubes for more than one season.
All fall services must be paid in full prior to the completion of services, or a payment plan must be established with a working credit card on file.
Please feel free to call us at 419-368-5951 at Charles Mill Marina or 419-938-6488 at Pleasant Hill Marina with any questions. We thank you for boating with us in 2022 and look forward to another great year in 2023!
